Community Power Project
In 2011, Groundswell organized nearly 40 faith, community and labor institutions in Washington
Groundswell's Community Power Project partners with mission-based organizations to help them use their collective buying power to purchase clean energy at a reduced rate. Those faith, community and labor institutions then reinvest their savings into their community work.
By buying together to lock in lower rates, organizations can watch their monthly electricity bills drop and switch to clean energy.

Strong Homes Program
In Silver Spring, Maryland, families who coordinated their home energy improvements saved on average 15 percentGroundswell's Strong Homes Program guides community members in coordinating their home energy upgrades.
Pooling residents’ purchasing power helps lock in a discounted rate for efficiency services, generates savings for each household budget and lowers families’ energy use.
The initiative makes investing in home energy efficiency simple and affordable.
